Chandrasekhar's Hearts

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was the Nobel Laureate for his work in the theoretical structure and evolution of stars

Small Universe: Tiny Galaxies

is a collaboration between Chelsey Hyatt and Courtney Matzke. It is primarily inspired by Stephen Hawking, who believes one could say: "the boundary condition of the universe is that it has no boundary." In this scenario, the universe would be completely self-contained and not affected by anything outside itself. Our resin cast galaxy necklaces, Chandrasekhar's Hearts, reflect the concept that while the galaxy is vast, we are encrypted in ourselves, our communities, our beliefs, and so on. And that containment extends a beautiful mystery to the grand scheme of things.

The collaboration between Courtney Matzke and myself took place for the Pink Light Bazaar in Orlando, Florida, on June 5th, at Red Light Red Light. I am home again...

Specimen for Errol

If I could make a place
Where the wonder of what's inside

Made everyone want to take a look
I'd give it to you inside a book

That you can open from time to time
To redefine the things inside

As creatures: friend or foe
Or as captive audience for your next show

To take along or leave behind
Or to be replaced with new things you find.

I am changing colors

I do not portray being; I portray passing...My history needs to be adapted to the moment...I may indeed contradict myself now and then; but truth, as Demades said, I do not contradict."
-Michel de Montaigne

we are a beautiful example of two distinct types
one, graceful feathers with curling ends
the other, a design of frost from the land of pointed firs

flesh becoming stairs, column, sky, and architecture

As I grieve the realization that you can live without me, my relief is a wave (in the most general scientific sense). We are fossils made from the sediment of past crimes, and this hardness preserved us. There is a place where the past is unremembered, but that place is less a space than a moment, where living organisms breathe disbelief.
